Nathan Hadland is a graduate student within the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory at the University of Arizona. He specializes in astrobiology with a particular focus on the microbiology of volcanic environments on Earth and Mars. He investigates the initial microbial colonization of lava flows and lava-induced hydrothermal systems, specifically at the Holuhraun and Fagradalsfjall eruption sites in Iceland. Nathan received his B.Sc. in Astrobiology from the Florida Institute of Technology.
